Holtville High School and the Child Nutrition Director of Elmore County were in search of a way to increase participation in the cafeteria. Holtville High School is located in Deatsville, AL and they offer breakfast and lunch services to over 240 students. The challenge was to create a similar look and atmosphere of the restaurants and coffee shops students are accustomed to outside of school while keeping the functionality, durability and maintainability needed in such a high traffic and demanding school environment.
Terrell Enterprises design services and over 40 years of experience in enhancing educational environments was enlisted to develop a furniture plan and create an art package to achieve the client’s vision.
Our team put together a furniture package that not only met the aesthetic vision for our clients, but also made sure that the furniture used would not raise the operational costs of the cafeteria by increasing cleaning times. In order to accomplish this, a majority of the furniture used was mobile folding tables of various shapes from Sico, Inc. With their newly redesigned tables, new color palette and selection of over 200 standard top laminates, the customer was able to achieve the perfect balance of function and style. To compliment the mobile folding tables, we used the Pilot mobile booth along with tables, chairs and trash receptacles from Seating Concepts.
Our graphic designer put together a unique package for this project which incorporated various wall art, signs and hanging graphics for both the dining and service areas. The wall art in this project and pictured below are not cookie cutter paintings on the wall. They are custom designed, 3D pieces that are attached to the wall and really make the dining space “pop”. Our talented graphics partner can transform any space into a fun and inviting area.
